Alienation Digital are Web Competition Winners
Monday, 11 December 2000 00:00
We are pleased to announce that your hard working team at Alienation Digital have won the prestigious Web Developers Competition at The Scottish E-Commerce Show in Glasgow.
We beat off stiff competition to claim the trophy, when a panel of judges chose our new design for the West of Scotland Science Park Web site to be the best.
In the competition six Glasgow based Web design companies were invited by organisers Services to Software Ltd to send two team members to enter the challenge. With no prior knowledge of the client a brief was handed out at 9.15am and each company was asked to produce a working Web site to an exact specification. The task had to be completed by 7.00pm and it was to be judged by a panel of experts the following morning
Despite being allocated a limited time period, our team consisting of Neil and Duncan produced a fully working web site. Not only was the site over 60 pages in size, consisting of over 150 images, but it also contained a database which enabled the client to fully update every section of the Web site.
Winning this competition - a joint initiative between Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, Strathclyde European Partnership, The University of Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian University and Strathclyde University – confirms our thoughts that Alienation Digital are heading in the right direction regarding our strategy for Web design.
We are convinced that the high standards we set ourselves - apparent yesterday at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall - will be maintained as we persist with our objective to provide the very best “Creative solutions in a technical world”.
