I’m happy to report that everybody survived the Christmas party in one piece - although one person did sustain minor facial burns, the less said the better. It's been a hectic start to the year for Alienation, as expected more and more new business has been won, along with a brand new CMS for 2005 and new client project monitoring tool we have developed called Project Tracker.

Client wins. Bo'ness based Halspan develop and supply passive fire resistant doors and related products such as fire resistant glass. The current website did not convey the companies standing in the market place and did not exude the level of quality which the company itself works to. Along with the new website, Alienation will be developing a secure web based CRM system.

Continuing on from our success with the Glasgow Community Planning Partnership website project we are now excited to be working with another social inclusion partnership, namely Greater Pollok SIP. Greater Pollok covers a large geographical area in the south west of Glasgow and was set up to tackle some of the problems relating to poverty & deprivation and to make a lasting difference to the area.

We are delighted to announce our continuing involvement with arts and theatre companies. Having already worked with TAG Theatre for a number of years - we have just started work on their new site. Additionally the RBS Centre for Community Arts Research & Practice site is due for launch soon. We are now working with 7:84 Theatre Company who are Scotland's foremost political touring theatre company. At the heart of the company's philosophy since 1973, is their commitment to tour high quality productions that address current social, cultural and political issues to areas of geographic and social isolation.

New Products Internally we have also been extremely busy. Firstly we have improved on our already excellent Content Management System, giving it a new and improved look for 2005 - along with a whole host of new features which we will be making available on the site soon. Secondly, we have launched Project Tracker, already receiving praise from new and existing clients. Project Tracker allows our clients to have 24-hour access over the net to every aspect of the work in progress, throughout the entire development of the website.

"This is very, very good. I lead the teams that built bt.com/business and never had anything close and that was with most of the major new media companies in London. In fact I have found your approach quite refreshing.

It just goes to prove what a good Scottish company can show these guys and their customers."

And finally, last but not least, with so much work on the go we have decided it was time to add to the development team and to that end would like to welcome Brian Baird to the company. Brian not only brings his wide and varied skills as a web developer to the team but also his talents in IT training and management.
