FIFTEEN of Scotland's leading mobile application companies have joined forces in a powerful new alliance to develop tomorrow's cutting-edge technology. The website for the newly formed MX Alliance has been launched and can be found at www.mxalliance.co.uk. The website, developed by the award winning team at Alienation Digital allows MX members to come together and share opportunities and ideas online.
As well as the public area of the web site, all the MX members have access to an extranet where they can share information, use the forum and update their public details. MX have use of an extensive Content Management System and the recently developed Alienation Email Marketing Utility (eMU).
The eMU integrates with the website to allow MX to conduct and track effective online marketing campaigns. As well as holding records for those that contact MX through their website, the system allows MX to target email marketing campaigns, track responses in real time and manage the follow up process.
Neil Barr, Managing Director of Alienation says:
"We are very proud to have developed the website for such forward looking players in the technology sector. Many companies today have been disappointed by the lack of returns from their e-business projects. The aim of the eMU (along with a carefully developed online strategy) is to increase the returns gained from such projects. The utility allows for effective online campaigning and tracking of results. The objective here is to see an increase in MX members and greater awareness of the alliance"
The aim of the MX alliance, launched June 12, is to provide a one-stop shop for companies that specialise in the invention and delivery of services, applications and solutions via mobile devices. Big players in the IT and telecommunications sector such as Orange, Hewlett Packard, Oracle and Hutchison 3G have all expressed their backing for the MX alliance.
MX has been formed with the support of Scottish Enterprise and aims to recruit other mobile application companies with a base in Scotland.
MX board member Tom Morton says:
"The level of activity in this sector within Scotland is incredibly high. We want to build on this and make Scotland an international centre for companies wishing to trial, build and sell mobile applications. MX provides us with a vehicle to encourage collaboration and promote the technologies and business interests of the members."
