We have been so busy over the past couple of months we’ve not even had time to keep the news up-to-date. With some major new projects won, more work for existing clients and new sites going live, the year has continued the way it started, at 100 miles per hour……

……oops sorry, after winning the contract for the new A77 Safety Group we should know better than to break the speed limit. The new A77 website is part of a high profile PR campaign over the coming year to highlight the work of the partnership to increase the safety of the A77 and roads in general. The remit of the group (which comprises representatives from the Scottish Executive Trunk Road Network Management Division, Strathclyde Police, South Ayrshire Council, West Sound, Amey and the Strathclyde Safety Camera Partnership) is to reduce the number of fatalities and accidents on this busy trunk road, through a combination of significant investment in engineering improvements, education initiatives, and a thorough driver and community awareness campaign.

Another new project that we are excited to be involved in is the Global Incubator Network (GIN) which lists Scottish Enterprise, the Welsh Development Agency and the Pacific Incubation Network among its partners. GIN is a potentially enormous project which aims to create a network of business incubators committed to sharing best practice and developing business opportunities across the globe. It represents an unrivalled opportunity for participant organisations to gain access to knowledge and networks for incubators, economic development agencies and incubating companies. At the moment Alienation are working with Strategem (project coordinators) to showcase a website at the National Business Incubator Association International Conference in Baltimore, USA on the 15th May.

We have also started work on a large project for one of our existing clients Fife Rights Forum (FRF) - the umbrella body for Fife's advice and rights agencies. FRF required Alienation to take their paper based referral system and recreate it as an efficient web based format which is available to all agencies in order for them to better serve the public. To that end, working closely with FRF we have designed and started build on an online referral creation and tracking system which will eventually be rolled out across the whole of the Fife region and used by over 80 different agencies.

Recently we have had three new sites go live. First for 7:84 Theatre Company (Scotland’s only political touring theatre company), secondly Broad Communications (Training in media and live communication led by award-winning print and broadcast journalist Louise Tait) and finally Greater Pollok Social Inclusion Partnership’s (GPSIP) new site. GPSIP are one of the largest SIP’s in Scotland.
