Alienation Digital were invited into a competitive pitch by Glasgow City Council for the web design element of the Blitz on Clydeside micro site. GCC were looking to appoint a design partner with responsibility for creating a series of templates with a strong identity to house online archived records of the impact of the Blitz during World War Two on Glasgow and the surrounding areas. The supplied templates where also required to be highly accessible in compliance with GCC’s own web standards and external standard’s and in particular the Government’s Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) and take into account the accessibility issues of the World Wide Web Consortium and the Website Accessibility Initiative. The Blitz team awarded Alienation Digital the contract after demonstrating an understanding of the requirements of Glasgow City Council and its audience for the project and creativity and originality in terms of the approach to the design and development.
