The ECRC conducts essential research into effective cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, whilst providing a dynamic educational environment for cancer researchers. A range of key individuals from within the organisation were invited to provide input into the development of the new website, and did so via focus group sessions, telephone interviews and an online survey organised by Alienation Digital. This research was then compiled into a report, which was used to inform the design and development team about the differing needs and requirements highlighted by stakeholders within the research centre for the new website. ![]() From this research, Alienation developed the new branding, photography and website for the ECRC, in order to better represent the Centre’s identity. The site incorporates a bold banner image and clearly set out sections, to guide visitors to key research information and personnel, and highlight important news. The researcher profiles incorporate a number of interactive features and multimedia, such as video and links to publications, in order to better align collective knowledge and research, and promote engagement with the Centre. Alienation Digital is delighted to have been involved in developing this dynamic new online presence. Kenny Burn, Information Services Manager at the Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre, said; “Alienation not only delivered a great website, they were also excellent in taking care of the branding and photography remit we gave them! Website looks great and CMS is straightforward to use! I see this as the start of an ongoing partnership between Alienation and ourselves!”
