Albert Bartlett, a family run business for over 60 years, is the UK’s leading grower and supplier of potatoes. In 1948 the company launched “Scotty” Brand in the belief that there was a real need for wholesome, healthy, locally grown food. This belief rings true today and “Scotty” Brand relaunched in 2010 across a wider range of Scottish products. ![]() The new app, developed by Alienation Digital, allows users to ‘Scotty Brand’ images of themselves and their friends (similar to Simon's makeover pictured above), by adding traditional Scottish elements to pictures, such as bagpipes, a kilt, a ginger wig, etc (illustrated in the image below). The ‘Scottified’ image can then be shared with friends on Facebook. This feature aims to engage consumers and attract attention to the fun tone and underlying values of the brand. In addition, the application will draw visitors to the “Scotty” Brand company Facebook page, thus enhancing its profile. ![]() In response to the new Facebook app development, John Hicks, Marketing Manager at Albert Bartlett, said; “It has been great working with Real Radio and Alienation Digital to produce this app. We are fairly new to the social media side of things, but we think this app is great fun and our customers will really enjoy using it. It is good to see this kind of technology and communication used in the fresh produce category. I challenge you and your friends to get “Scotty” Branded”. Graeme McKellar, Senior Creative Writer at GMG Radio (Real Radio) added; "thanks for a job well done – it was great working with you guys. Your help, advice and expertise in what was possible with Facebook has really been invaluable."
