Brief

The Beatson Institute for Cancer Research is funded by Cancer Research UK and provides a dynamic, supportive and well-resourced environment for its basic and translational scientists. Following a move to new premises which offered state-of-the-art facilities and closer ties to the University of Glasgow’s basic and clinical cancer research groups the organisation required a new site and intranet to support its growing community.

Solution

Alienation designed and developed an extensive intranet for the institute to meet its varying needs. The intranet acts as an information hub for all Beatson staff, academics and students, is fully customisable to each individual user’s needs and allows access to key functionality and resources such as room booking, event information, contact information, the e-library and research databases.

The site has centralised a number of processes, enhancing overall management and control, and providing members with an irreplaceable new resource.
