Brief

The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is a Scottish charity established to provide hospice services in Scotland for children with life-limiting conditions. In October 2008, Alienation won the contract to develop a brand new web presence for the charity which would effectively convey the admirable work CHAS does with sick children along with the vibrancy of Rachel and Robin House. Following the successful completion of this new website CHAS returned to Alienation Digital to develop a staff intranet, in order to enhance internal communication and business processes.

Solution

Alienation created the iCON intranet system, complete with new branding and logo, that streamlines internal processes, communication and archiving, thus optimising administrative control and overall efficiency. In addition, Alienation Digital has created an extranet component to compliment the intranet system, that allows members to log in externally, therefore connecting staff at remote locations across the country. Key features of the intranet include Human Resources documents, which allow for the update and recording of information online, continually fresh content created through changing announcements and news feed sections, a room booking facility and a comprehensive directory element.

The new intranet connects staff across the nation and has simplified business processes, the organisation and management of events, and the updating and maintenance of policies/documents online.

Since the initial platform development Alienation has also developed a volunteer specific extranet for CHAS.
