Brief
Alienation has enjoyed a long-term relationship with Coatbridge college, first developing its website in 2007. Since then, Alienation has worked with the college to further develop its online presence and digital marketing. The client’s main requirement for this project was to meet W3C HTML 4.01, W3C CSS, W3C and WAI-AAA accessibility standards.
Solution
Alienation conducted extensive consultancy with staff, students, the management team, and the board of management consultations. This research work, supported with design capabilities, resulted in Coatbridge College becoming the only Scottish college to fully satisfy WAI-AAA standards
In addition to a flexible CMS, Alienation integrated the content page into the system for dynamic navigation (dynamic tool bar). Other requirements included creation of a customised course guide with the facility for users to “create a user Course Guide” on the Website and also “Retrieve a created Course Guide via email”. Functionality was developed with features such as enquiry forms, feedback, course search and site search.
The new site offers a hugely accessible platform to a wide target audience, whilst remaining visually appealing and engaging.
