ENABLE Make the Move

Brief

ENABLE Scotland selected Alienation to create and launch its dynamic new website aimed at supporting young people with disabilities in their transition from education to employment. The existing ENABLE site is an invaluable resource but the new 'Make the Move' site was to target 14-24 years olds specifically. A major challenge for Alienation was to create an informative, engaging site that is simple but not patronising; educational, but not too complex.

Solution

The new site’s key feature is an interactive banner that offers users a fun way to navigate the website, whereby visitors simply visit the relevant building for all the information they require. This ‘town’ concept originated from focus group sessions held by ENABLE and the target audience, and was then developed and implemented by the Alienation team. Graphics and imagery provide an intuitive step-by-step process for visitors, enhancing the user’s experience and encouraging further engagement. In addition, users can customise the site upon arrival, choosing from a range of skins designed by Alienation.

Results

The site acts as a comprehensive, easily navigable and invaluable resource for young people with learning disabilities, receiving an average of more than 2,500 monthly visits.

“After a close pitch, we approached Alienation Digital to design and develop our website. With many different visual ideas in-mind, Alienation produced a design that has proved to be extremely popular. They also helped to produce a brand for the website, and we reuse the key elements from the website in all our marketing. We are extremely happy with the design that Alienation Digital created.”
