Following an impressive track record in working with outstanding educational institutions, the University of Bath selected Alienation Digital to design 20 new pages to integrate with its existing web presence and create a seamless user experience structured around the faculties of Science, Engineering & Design, and Humanities & Social Sciences. Awarded The Sunday Times ‘University of the Year 2011-2012’, the University of Bath is one of the UK’s leading further education institutions, which aims to establish itself more firmly within the global education sector by means of a bold, modern web presence. ![]() Alienation conducted exhaustive stakeholder research to identify the needs of the website’s wide group of users and ensure the best possible results were attained for each party. This research then formed the basis of the digital solution, whereby Alienation suggested developing a set of design modules, which could then be allocated to individual pages by the University’s in-house technical team. Therefore, this will provide the University of Bath with a greater level of flexibility over the content of each web page, allowing them to customise every faculty individually. Alienation Digital has created clean, new page designs that meet the high Visual Identity Standards of the institution. As well as the original web designs for the three aforementioned faculties, Alienation’s designers created an additional ‘wild card’ design for the Management faculty to further streamline the user journey throughout the website. In line with the original brief, Alienation has employed powerful visual data to support navigation, engage visitors and develop a strong identity for the University. Phil Wilson, Acting Head of Web Services at the University of Bath, said; “Full of ideas and having a very positive attitude towards the challenges of designing for Higher Education, Alienation Digital has produced fantastic results. “Dave, the web designer assigned to our project, was easy to work with and produced an attractive design that not only complimented and adhered to our existing Visual Identity, but also enhanced several areas of the user experience."
