GCV Green Network

GCV Green Network GCV Green Network

Brief

In 2009 GCV Green Network came to Alienation Digital to create a new website that would form an integral component in an ambitious project set to change the face of the Glasgow and Clyde Valley area. The project aimed to benefit the region through the creation and physical delivery of a quality greenspace infrastructure, in the aim of making it one of Europe’s most attractive places to live, work and play.

Solution

Alienation Digital created a site that communicates the ongoing benefits and mission of this project with key target audiences, and ultimately encourages involvement.  The new website incorporates a number of interactive maps of the areas covered showing the different types of projects throughout the region. Alienation has ensured that the entire site – including the projects, videos and extensive publication library – is controlled by GCV through an efficient content management system.

Results

The new website has been launched to much success in Scotland and the company now intends to use the site to expand its offering further across the UK. The site is going from strength to strength with traffic up 38% in the last 2 months based on the previous 2, and visitor figures reaching almost 1,500 for the same period.

“Our focus is shifting from awareness raising toward achieving physical delivery of the GCV Green Network Vision. Our new website is a crucial tool in encouraging key audiences to become hands on and get involved with delivery of the Partnership’s strategic projects.

Through development of localised map features we are able to demonstrate where activity is happening on the ground. Alienation’s approach has allowed us to take control of a complex website through content management, this will ultimately benefit our end users and lead to more effective communications.”
