Missing People

Missing People Missing People

Brief

Alienation won the rebuild of the Missing People website following a competitive tender process. The site had become too content heavy and lacked clarity, hence the challenge was to convey a simpler message and create a more engaging visitor experience.

Solution

Alienation developed a platform that integrated elements such as social media, a unique interactive map, and individual profiles of missing people. A sophisticated search facility makes it simple to search for missing people using a variety of criteria. Key calls to action such as social media and donate buttons make it easy for visitors to support the charity and share campaigns on social networking sites.

Results

The new site assisted in the development and implementation of a momentous social media marketing campaign. On International Missing Children’s Day (IMCD), May 25th, Missing People launched the first ever “Big Tweet for Missing Children”.

The campaign received extraordinary support from the general public, with the number of visits to the Missing People website on May 25th reaching over 9,500: eight times the traffic of a normal day. Whilst Twitter followers increased from 1,400 to 7,181, including high-profile supporters such as Stephen Fry and Victoria Beckham.

“The new website is the ideal platform for creating awareness and raising the profile of this incredible charity. We were delighted to be able to work with Missing People and are glad to see that it is already reaping the rewards of rapidly growing website traffic and increasing contact with the public.”
