Brief

The Professional Golf Association Tour (PGA TOUR) selected PSD Golf (UK) Ltd as the licensed distributor of official PGA TOUR apparel, and Alienation Digital have created the e-commerce portal for online sales. PSD will sell three clothing lines on behalf of the PGA Tour, each of which has something different to offer the golf enthusiast.

Solution

With something for everyone, the site requires a broad appeal whilst maintaining the status of the world-famous PGA brand. The contract was won based on previous experience with similar projects. At the crux of the client’s requirements is slick integration with the warehouse management system, an objective Alienation has achieved many times in the past. For PSD (UK) Ltd, Alienation has constructed a user-friendly e-commerce platform for both trade and retail customers. The agency recommended Joomla as the content management system of choice, and has provided the client with training to allow the easy update of site content and complete control of the overall site.

Results

Initial feedback on this newly launched website suggests that we are on track to exceed the client's targets and achieve ROI within Year 1.

“We have created a trade portal that allows customers to purchase PGA golf branded apparel through a unique UK licence. Currently, the website is non-transactional in that customers simply submit order forms and payment is dealt with at a later stage. However, once PGA have settled on a business model for this process Alienation will work to integrate both an OBS Warehouse Management System and a suitable online Payment System.
