Brief

Scotland’s Colleges is the key policy and development agency for Scotland’s 43 colleges. It was looking for a new web presence that would act as a central information portal and communications channel to allow new ways for Scotland’s Colleges to interact with its members, merging four separate organisations: the Colleges Open Learning Exchange Group, Scotland’s Colleges International, Association of Scotland’s Colleges and the Scottish Further Education Unit.

Solution

Alienation developed the new group website for Scotland’s Colleges, this complex and multi faceted project entailed the consolidation of multiple sites into one united portal. An interactive customisable homepage, with drag and drop functionality, ensures the site appeals to a broad user group. Once logged in, members are able to personalise the site to keep track of their subjects, news and the events management system.

In addition to the main site Alienation built the Scotland’s Colleges Mean Business site, using Alienation’s multi site manager. This will streamline administration for the marketing team and provide a platform for alternative designs.

Results

Scotland’s Colleges now has a streamlined website that is managed from one content management system that has brought together numerous sites to one central point. Traffic to the website has increased by 1,473% in the five months post-launch compared with the five months before the site went live.
