Brief
Alienation Digital successfully pitched to create a website that would deliver a single, cutting edge web presence for the Management School at The University of Stirling.
The new university web design would replace an ageing suite of seven separate websites managed separately by the different divisions and research institutes within the School. The aim was to create a better online experience for a variety of stakeholders, from existing students and staff, to the business community and prospective international students.
Solution
Alienation Digital undertook a comprehensive programme of research to establish the different user groups and requirements. This involved one-to-one interviews with various academic and administrative staff, international recruitment officers, and students throughout the School. The solution is a dynamic web design which features blog and news feeds on the homepage, data visualisation to graphically display the diversity of the school, an interactive course search facility and profile pages for each member of staff.
Results
In the 3 months following the launch of the new website, visitors were up 550% on the previous 3 months: from around 5,000 to 33,000 visitors.
"The new design follows several months of engaging with staff and students to find out what they wanted most from the site, and to help to enhance user experience. The Homepage design includes Stirling Management School students, who represent the International student community at Stirling.
Stirling Management School aims to achieve world leading research, learning and knowledge exchange in niche areas of management. Our new website portrays the forward thinking vision of the School and provides an innovative, dynamic and engaging resource for diverse international audiences"
