Brief

Alienation Digital won a UK-wide pitch to create a new site for The International Digital Lab at the University of Warwick.

The Digital Lab is a £50 million initiative to facilitate major collaborative research opportunities, create effective knowledge transfer between academia and industry, and generate new knowledge and skills with an impact on business, society and the economy.

Solution

To mirror the values of the Lab, Alienation Digital created a cutting edge website, which when launched in 2008 was one of the best in its field in every aspect: design, navigation, interactivity and technology.

The concept behind the university web design was to create a dynamic digital platform that brings together the Lab, its people and research into one online space. An interactive banner on the homepage directs visitors to areas of interest and the latest news and events tab keeps visitors up to date with the latest happenings at the lab.

The website has facilitated a key link between the Warwick Digital Lab, the University, and the international business community. When Gordon Brown, as Prime Minister in 2008, opened the lab he highlighted the international nature of its work as a pivotal success factor.

“It is another example of you breaking new ground that will make a huge difference to the technology in this country and our economy. Not only are you doing this in the UK, but you are competing successfully with the rest of the world.”
