We Can, or to give it its full name the West of Scotland Cancer Centre, is an initiative developed in collaboration with Cancer Research UK, the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, the NHS Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, and the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde, with the ambition of integrating Glasgow’s considerable strengths in cancer research and translating knowledge into cures. As part of this, We Can aims to provide key stakeholders with a digital platform for information sharing and learning. As a result, Alienation Digital was selected to develop We Can’s branding, in line with its logo, and a website that will act as a central repository for cancer research information, resources and contacts, as well as encouraging greater collaboration. ![]() Alienation Digital’s creative team will develop bold, vibrant branding, taking the We Can logo and translating it into a wider brand concept, which will help position the organisation’s website as an important online resource for cancer research professionals. This branding will form the basis of the new site design, building in consistency and communicating efficiently from the offset, whilst creating a more personable and independent brand image. Clean, sharp aesthetics and site structure will assist navigation and prevent the website from feeling too content-heavy. Whilst, multimedia integration will engage visitors and make the site altogether more interactive. Meticulous development and training will allow the organisation to harness maximum control over site content and functionality, ultimately maintaining an evolving and easily updateable website. Moreover, the We Can website will become an invaluable resource for cancer researchers not only in the west of Scotland but also in the rest of the cancer research community, as well as publicising the organisation’s work to the wider public. Alienation looks forward to working with the West of Scotland Cancer Centre on this new exciting project. Jackie Beesley, Scientific Administrator at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, said; “The importance of having a good website for the Centre cannot be underestimated – hopefully it will help enhance interactions and collaborations between our cancer researchers.”
